Burning Roseoil on canvas 2007 A burning rose is a heart on fire, the greatest expression of desire. The painting 'Burning Rose' was inspired by my visit to Serbia in 2004 upon witnessing the plight of the Serbs to save Kosovo in a country that had been overrun by war. Even in the greatest despair, hope lies and grows in the cracks, even as the bombs fell, it grew like a rose from among the weeds.
